Bill and Victoria Strong created Unite For The Cure in August 2009 to motivate families impacted by SMA to unite together to collectively raise funding for a promising stem cell program at UC Irvine led by Dr. Hans Keirstead that has the real potential to cure SMA. Over 20 “Uniters” came together to raise over $145,000 for this program in less than 6 months and the funding that these inspiring families raised has been used to help accelerate this promising program.
